CONTRIBUTIONS ARE COMPLETELY TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

The SAC's goal is to raise $175,000 towards 2023 programming and operating expenses for the Andy Griffith Playhouse, the Blackmon Amphitheatre, and the Historic Earle Theatre.

Donations or Memorials may be made at any time to the Surry Arts Council, the Andy Griffith Museum, and /or to any Endowment or Scholarship Fund. Seat Plaques and Granite Tiles may also be purchased as honoria or memorials. These are acknowledged within two business days of receipt. Please call 336-786-7998 or e-mail @surryarts.org for additional information regarding memorial gifts or for information regarding setting up an endowment or scholarship fund.

HISTORIC EARLE THEATRE or ANDY GRIFFITH PLAYHOUSE SEAT PLAQUE

A plaque for seats at the Andy Griffith Playhouse or the Historic Earle Theatre may be purchased for $125. The designee and/or family members will be notified of the memorial/honorarium. Three lines with 16 characters per line is recommended.  

BLACKMON AMPHITHEATRE ENGRAVED GRANITE TILE

Engraved granite tiles make great holiday or special occasion gifts. The tiles are located on the landing in front of the amphitheatre stage. Three lines with 16 characters per line are recommended for the 12 x 12 granite tiles. Engraved tiles are $350 each. Designees are notified by the Surry Arts Council. Tiles in front of the Andy Griffith Statue are $1,000 each. 

ENDOWMENT or SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS

The Surry Arts Council works with the North Carolina Community Foundation and/or the Winston-Salem Foundation in setting up Endowment and/or Scholarship funds in honor or in memory of loved ones. These are set up at no cost to the donors. Endowments may be created with a minimum initial contribution of $25,000. New funds are welcome. Contributions can be earmarked at any time for existing funds:

  • Surry Arts Council Endowment (free programming)
  • Cindi and Andy Griffith Endowment (free programming)
  • Barbara and Emmett Forrest Endowment Fund (Andy Griffith Museum programs)
  • Kester Sink Birthday Endowment (scholarships for Arts Alive Camp and Missoula Theatre Camp)
  • Diane Holcomb Endowment (musical theatre performances)
  • Mildred Wolfe Robertson Scholarship Fund (scholarship for music education)
  • Sandy Beam Scholarship Fund (scholarship for music education)
  • Sarah J. and Richard T. Howerton, Jr. Memorial Fund (support of chorale performances)
  • The Jimmy Lowry Scholarship Endowment (scholarship for music education)
  • Betty Lynn Scholarship Endowment (scholarship for theatre and dance education)  

HONORARIA and/or MEMORIAL GIFTS

The Surry Arts Council welcomes honoraria and/or memorial gifts. Designees and/or families are sent notifications within 48 hours of the donation gift. Please include with the gift, the name/address of the designee along with the name/address of those whom you wish us to notify.
